SHHh...Ow...emmM is an intriguing artistic project led by visual artist Jaki Irvine. This endeavor encompasses video creation, musical performances, and installations culminating in an installation and collaborative performance at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex, later this year. The presentation features a partially devised improvised audio-visual performance where Jaki skillfully manipulates her video pieces in real-time, crafting a "live score" that interacts with the musicians. This experimental work integrates real-life footage, digital animations, and live music improvisation into a dynamic, interactive score. Drawing inspiration from the classic song “Show Me the Way to Go Home” (famous for its association with Jaws), this collaboration between sound and visuals promises an immersive experience for its audience.

Jaki Irvine, a distinguished Irish artist, is noted for her interdisciplinary approach that blends video, sound, writing, and installation. As a current studio artist at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, she is renowned for weaving complex narratives that delve into memory, history, language, and human interactions. Irvine's work merges personal stories with political commentary, offering immersive, multi-sensory experiences that captivate viewers. Whether through single-screen presentations or more elaborate installations, she crafts open narratives where imagery and musical scores intersect, fuse, and diverge. Focusing on both the artistry of music and the intricacies of sound, Irvine harmonizes the intimate practice of creating art with the expansive possibilities of performance. Her exhibitions have garnered acclaim, showcasing her unique visual aesthetics and insightful conceptual approaches.

Due to popular demand, there will be two distinct performances on Tuesday, April 22nd. The first session will take place from 6-7pm, followed by a second session from 7.30-8.30pm.

While the performances include a blend of composed and improvised elements in music and visuals, each show will offer a unique experience. Attendees are required to reserve for each performance individually.
