Info

🎥 An upcoming film screening features "The Landscape of Spirit," directed by Antoni Czarczyński and Helena Łomnicka. This experimental documentary explores Poland's "places of power" and the accompanying practice of radiesthesia.

⚗️ The screening is part of the exhibition "THE UMBILICUS OF THE UNIVERSE," inspired by the sci-fi writer Ursula Le Guin's essay "The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction." In it, the author presents a vision of storytelling as a bag that collects various threads, contrasting heroic tales with an ongoing process of gathering and a leisurely format of wandering.

⚗️ Curated by Milena Soporowska, the exhibition is located at the Windowlicker pavilion in the New Bazaar Różycki (pavilion no. 40, Targowa 52, entrance from Targowa Street, near the Museum of Warsaw Praga) and will be available until May 3rd. The opening times for the exhibition are announced weekly on the social media accounts of Windowlicker.

🔗 For more information about the exhibition, listeners can tune into a dedicated audio segment.

ℹ️ Practical Information:

🗓️ Date: April 29 (Tuesday), 6:15 PM - 7:30 PM

📍 Location: Paca Social Center, ul. Paca 40, Praga Południe, Warsaw

The film's creators embark on a month-long journey across Poland, traveling through back roads, highways, forests, and mountains. Their route is filled with symbols, snippets of radio broadcasts, relics, and stories that together reveal a rich and complex spiritual map of Poland.

Throughout the journey, they meet five guides who walk them along this intricate path at a leisurely pace, opening their hearts, sharing stories, and imparting parts of themselves.

Discussions about "places of power" serve as a starting point for broader reflections on religion, faith, and contemporary spirituality.

👅 @vvindovv.licker is an experimental exhibition space that serves as a hybrid between a gallery and an esoteric market, reminiscent of traditional bazaar fortune-tellers. Visitors can drop by for an exhibition, consultation, or browse various publications on esotericism, zines, and photography books, as well as unique tarot decks.

The name Windowlicker derives from the English idiom (window shopping) and French origins, metaphorically referring to "licking shop windows," which implies looking at store displays without ultimately making a purchase.

This space is run by two creative individuals: Milena Soporowska and Piotrek Sobiecki, who performs under the pseudonym Lotus Reaction.
