Info

Sweden Talent Visa Program

Overview

The Swedish government has launched a new visa initiative aimed at attracting professionals seeking employment opportunities in Sweden.

Visa Categories:

1) Jobseeker Visa

This visa lasts for 9 months and enables individuals to relocate to Sweden without having secured a job. This period can be utilized to apply for positions and engage with potential employers directly.

2) Work Visa

This visa is valid for a minimum of one year and allows individuals to move to Sweden for a specific job once they have received a job offer.

Processing Time

If applications are submitted by a certified company, a standard work permit can be processed within 10 days.

EU Blue Card

Overview

The EU Blue Card serves as a work and residence permit for non-EU/EEA nationals, similar to the US Green Card. It was instituted to simplify the process for highly skilled professionals to work in the EU, granting them extensive socio-economic rights and a route to permanent residency and EU citizenship.

Target Audience

This card is best suited for individuals planning to work in multiple EU nations within the next four years, as many countries offer Blue Card permits, facilitating easier mobility. Time spent holding a Blue Card in Sweden may also be credited when applying for permanent residence in other nations.

Processing Time

The average processing time for an EU Blue Card application is typically 2-3 weeks, although the Migration Agency may take up to 90 days to complete the process if required conditions are not met.
