Today's youth are navigating a landscape filled with screens and constant connectivity. This raises important questions about the implications of such a digital environment.
UNSW Medicine & Health and UNSW Science are set to host Growing Up Digital: How Technology is Shaping Young Minds on Wednesday, 21 May. The event features Sana Qadar, an acclaimed host and producer of All in the Mind, who will lead a discussion on the pervasive influence of digital technology in the lives of young people and how they can be supported as they grow up in this technologically saturated world.
A distinguished panel comprised of psychologists, psychiatrists, and industry leaders will delve into topics such as the psychology behind addictive design, the increase in mental health issues, and the negative repercussions of online activities. They will also examine how innovative digital solutions are being utilized to aid young individuals, focusing on early interventions and enhancing access to mental health resources.
Following the discussion, attendees are invited to enjoy drinks, canapés, and lively conversations from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. They will have the opportunity to engage with interactive experiences that connect mental health and technology through fun games and hands-on digital activities.
