This captivating event will take attendees on a journey from the Great Liberties Whiskey Fire of 1875 to the intriguing barrels of Manders & Powel Brewery, which were associated with Robert Emmet, and the sharp observations of Jonathan Swift regarding English porter. The night will also delve into the remarkable accomplishments of Daniel O’Connell’s Sons Ale Brewery, known for producing an astounding half a million litres of ale each day. Participants will immerse themselves in tales of cartels, distillery mishaps, and the fascinating legacy of Dublin’s Liberties through the narratives of historians, musicians, and storytellers.
