This interactive workshop invites individuals of all skill levels, combining the timeless art of embroidery with the imaginative techniques of collage-making.
Participants will gain insights from Jeanne, who will discuss how her familial background has shaped her artistic journey. Attendees will discover how personal narratives and heritage inform creative expression.
Throughout the session, participants will learn to enhance their collages by incorporating embroidery techniques—utilizing stem stitch and backstitch for shape definition, cross stitch, feather stitch, and French knots for added texture, along with blanket stitch to complete the design. Threads will provide depth and movement to the pieces created.
This workshop encourages self-reflection on personal heritage, allowing individuals to craft a unique embroidered piece to take home.
Ideal for artists, crafters, and those exploring their creativity, this session enhances artistic practices by intertwining various mediums.
All necessary materials will be supplied, and participants are encouraged to bring an image that resonates with them.
No prior experience is needed.
The workshop will be conducted in English, French, and a small amount of Portuguese.

It features a blend of 'drop in' sessions and masterclass workshops, led by a regular facilitator, while also engaging the artist community in sharing skills and knowledge.
