👤 About Prof. David McColl
As a partner at Echelon, David is part of a venture capital firm focused on supporting a global network of innovators tackling significant issues. His firm has been instrumental in launching successful ventures such as Fervo Energy, LayerZero Labs, and Pie Insurance.
In his academic role, David serves as Adjunct Professor of Energy Science & Engineering at Stanford University and acts as the Executive Director of Stanford Climate Ventures, an entrepreneurship course that has facilitated the establishment of over 50 startups that have collectively secured more than $1.3 billion in funding.
David possesses dual engineering degrees from Stanford and is also recognized as a highly-ranked beach volleyball player.
