This 3-hour linocut workshop is designed for anyone interested in exploring the art of printmaking through carving on linoleum. Participants will be guided step-by-step, from the initial drawing to the final print of their creation. Techniques for handling the gouge to sculpt the linoleum and how to bring their artwork to life in two colors using a press will be taught.
Open to all skill levels, this workshop enables participants to take home three unique A4 prints, along with their original linoleum plate – a personal creation that can be reused!
What should participants bring? All necessary materials will be provided. However, wearing appropriate attire (that can get stained) is recommended. Participants are encouraged to bring inspirational images (photos and/or drawings) and snacks/drinks if desired.
Where is the workshop held? The workshop takes place at Atelier Ton Piquant, a creative space located near Fernand Cocq Square in Ixelles. This venue is home to seven resident illustrators who work and exhibit their artwork there. The collective also organizes regular activities around illustration.
What is the minimum number of participants required for a session? A minimum of 5 participants is necessary for the workshop to proceed. If this number is not met, the session may be canceled, and an alternative date will be suggested.
Is this course exclusively in French? The course is conducted in French, but translation into English is available if needed.
