ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIG: OPEN FOR VISITORS
The archaeological site at Via Appia Antica 39 welcomes visitors during the sixth excavation campaign (March 31 - May 31) through guided tours held weekly.
Curious about what happens at an archaeological dig?
During the tour, participants will witness firsthand the activities conducted by the team from the University of Ferrara and get answers to many intriguing questions!
What discoveries have been made? What structures have emerged? What advancements have been achieved in understanding this site, which has revealed itself to be a small Roman necropolis just meters from the Appia Antica?
Join a specially designed educational path to make the excavation accessible to those not in the field and satisfy your curiosity about this significant area of ancient Rome's suburbs.

📌 Meeting point: Via Appia Antica 39 (in front of the entrance of the former Latine Paper Mill)
It is recommended to wear closed shoes and bring a hat and a bottle of water!
