This immersive experience allows participants to explore the diverse sounds, scents, sights, and sensations of the natural world while fostering self-discovery. By embracing a more relaxed pace, individuals can gain fresh insights and perspectives.
The forest bathing walk draws inspiration from the Japanese practice of “shinrin-yoku,” which emphasizes well-being through time spent in natural surroundings. Research has shown that this practice confers numerous benefits, including enhanced immune system functioning, reduced stress, and a deeper sense of relaxation.
Participants do not need to venture into wilderness areas to enjoy the calming and restorative effects of nature. The serene atmosphere of Merian Gärten in Basel provides an ideal backdrop for this introduction to forest bathing.
The program consists of a gentle, guided sensory journey involving seated reflection and leisurely strolls in nature.
