This series aims to explore the impact of contemporary French literature through the insights of Spanish artists and authors. In a discussion with literary expert Jacinta Cremades, cultural figures from Spain share how these works have influenced and moved them, engaging with the audience. In this session, Jacinta Cremades will converse with Marina Sanmartin Pla about the themes of mystery, fear, and suspense in French literature.
This is the third series organized by the Institut français de España in collaboration with the Biblioteca Eugenio Trías, taking place on a Tuesday each month from October 2024 to May 2025 (excluding December).
MARINA SANMARTÍN PLA
Marina Sanmartín Pla is a writer and bookseller. Her professional career has focused on journalism, and she contributes to the newspaper ABC as the head of the crime fiction section Tinta Roja in the ABC Cultural supplement.
She is the author of seven literary works. In 2022, she received the Best Novel award at the tenth edition of the Valencia Negra festival for her book Las manos tan pequeñas (ed. Harpercollins).
JACINTA CREMADES
A literary critic, professor at Comillas University, and author of the novels Regreso a París and La maldición de Kylemore (ed. Duomo), Jacinta Cremades also writes for El Cultural de El Español.
In collaboration with the Eugenio Trías library and the Cervantes bookstore, which will be present to sell the books mentioned in each session.
