Join for a brunch featuring a vibrant Spanish dance performance paired with traditional folk music reimagined in a jazz flamenco style. This captivating show brings traditional dance and music expressions into a contemporary context.
This Sunday, April 20th, at 12:30 PM, Maché, located at Casa de las Artes, presents an artistic experience that reshapes beloved Iberian folk songs. The dance is inspired by the legendary Vicente Escudero and Antonia Mercé "La Argentina," who were trailblazers in avant-garde Spanish dance during the Silver Age of Spanish culture.
The program showcases unique musical arrangements of classic folk melodies like La Tarara, Zorongo Gitano, and Anda Jaleo, in addition to original jazz flamenco compositions. Each performance reveals a modern interpretation incorporating elements of flamenco, bolero school, stylized dance, and folklore.
They look forward to welcoming everyone!
