Sweden Talent Visa Program

Overview

The Swedish government has instituted a new talent visa program for professionals seeking employment in Sweden as part of recent legislation.

Types of Visa:

1) Jobseeker Visa

A 9-month visa that allows individuals to relocate to Sweden without an existing job offer. This period can be utilized for job applications and in-person meetings with employers.

2) Work Visa

A visa for 1 year or more, enabling individuals to move to Sweden once they have secured a job offer.

Processing Time

Typically, a work permit is processed within 10 days if submitted by an employer certified by the Migration Agency.

EU Blue Card

Overview

The EU Blue Card is a work and residence permit designed for non-EU/EEA nationals. It aims to facilitate the entry of highly skilled workers into the EU, providing essential socio-economic rights and a route towards permanent residency and EU citizenship.

Eligibility

This card is ideal for individuals planning to work in other EU countries within the next four years. Many EU nations accept Blue Card holders, simplifying relocation processes. Some EU countries may also consider prior Blue Card tenure in Sweden when assessing applications for permanent residency.

Processing Time

Generally, an EU Blue Card application is processed in 2 to 3 weeks, although the Migration Agency has up to 90 days to complete the process. Delays may occur if the case officer experiences a high workload.

• Job search strategies utilizing databases and professional networks.
• Facilitated employer introductions.
• Referral support for job applicants following verification of qualifications.
• Application submission and CV forwarding to relevant contacts.
• Assistance in scheduling interviews with HR departments and recruitment agencies.
