Description of the Hike:

Join for an Easter hike on one of the panoramic peaks of Parnitha!

On April 19, 2025, Great Saturday, a hiking escape will take place through the rich fir forests of Parnitha, ascending to the Xerovouni peak at 1,119 meters, where participants will enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view and finish at the Flabouri mountain shelter.

Come and hike on one of the most beautiful and green trails in the Parnitha National Park!

Leave the city behind for a very special adventure:

• Hike through impressive forests of fir and black pine.
• See the stone springs of Koromilia and Kyra.
• Conquer the Xerovouni peak, one of Parnitha’s 17 peaks.
• Enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Attica, Lake Marathon, the Euboean Gulf, and the mountain peaks of Euboea.
• Listen to the peaceful sounds of nature.
• Catch a glimpse of deer (if lucky, they may appear).
• Visit the Flabouri shelter.

This peak is easy for everyone, even for those with no prior hiking or climbing experience, as long as they are in good physical condition and have a desire for nature and unique views!

At the end of the hike, with the best images that the mountain of Parnitha has to offer, individuals can wrap up the day by visiting the Flabouri shelter, where they can enjoy lunch or a warm drink or coffee!

Transportation is not included. Participants must arrive at the meeting point using their own means of transportation. The hiking route is circular, meaning the starting and finishing point is the same.

Hiking Schedule:

• Meeting Time: 12:00 at the Flabouri mountain shelter sign (view on map)
• End of Hike Time: 15:15 at the Flabouri mountain shelter

Technical Hiking Information:

• Hiking Duration: 3 hours, including breaks depending on the pace of the group
• Hiking Distance: 5.5 km
• Elevation Change: (+/-) 170 meters
• Difficulty Level: 1 (Low)

Participation Conditions:

• Suitable for beginners in good physical condition (no prior hiking experience necessary)
• Suitable for adults and children aged 8 and above with parental supervision
• Basic gear required

Basic Gear:

• Hiking shoes or sneakers with a good sole that does not slip, not canvas types.
• Windbreaker or jacket, and a sweater or hoodie.
• Small backpack for personal items (avoid shoulder bags)
• Water (at least 1.5 - 2 liters per person for the hike)

Tickets:

1. Early Bird Ticket: 14.99€ until April 13, 2025 or until sold out!
2. Regular Ticket: 17.99€ until April 18, 2025 or until sold out
3. Child/Teen Ticket (8-16 years old): 12.99€ until April 18, 2025 or until sold out

Ways to Purchase Tickets:

2. Purchase via bank transfer - simply fill out the relevant form on our website or email swenhiking@gmail.com to confirm availability before transferring.

No cash tickets will be available on the day of the hike!

The program and activities may change or be canceled in case of adverse weather conditions or other technical factors affecting participant safety.

Cancellation / Change Policy

If a participant cancels up to 14 days before the hike, they can choose to receive a credit voucher for any activity within a year or a refund. If cancellation is made up to 7 days before the hike, they will receive a 50% credit or refund of the ticket price. If cancellation occurs up to 4 days before, they will receive a 25% credit or refund of the ticket. For last-minute cancellations (3 days or less before the hike), no credit or refund will be available.

Exceptions apply in case of illness due to Covid-19, where a valid positive rapid test or PRC certificate sent at least 1 day before the planned activity can entitle the individual to a credit voucher for use in a future activity. In this case, our team will verify the validity and send the credit voucher via email.

Tickets are personal, and there is a 7 euro fee for name changes. Name changes can be made up to 1 day before the scheduled hike (Monday to Friday at 16:00, emailing swenhiking@gmail.com).

All participants who purchased a ticket will receive a detailed informative email 1-2 days before the hike for proper preparation (weather, last updates, etc.).
