DPW Special Waste Collection Event (Saturday, Apr. 19 at RFK Lot 3)

(Note: This collection is exclusively for residents of Washington, DC. Proof of residency will be mandatory.)

The DC Department of Public Works (DPW) is hosting Special Waste Collection Events, providing an opportunity for households to responsibly dispose of hazardous waste, electronics, and sensitive documents.

In order to ensure a smooth and safe collection process, DPW has introduced a registration requirement for participation in the Special Waste Collection Events.

Participants are asked to sign up for a time slot of 15 minutes. Attendees may arrive anytime within this slot. They should join the line upon arrival. The collection will commence at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m. Each time slot is designed to help manage the flow of vehicles and maintain the safety of the collection process.

Only one registration is needed per vehicle.

This event is limited to DC residents only. Participants should present proof of residency (such as a driver's license, utility bill, or lease) at the time of arrival. A DC resident must be present in every vehicle.

Acceptable Items:

• Household hazardous waste (HHW)
• Electronics
• Sensitive documents for shredding

Safety Guidelines:

• Have identification ready upon arrival.
• Join the line when arriving and stay in the vehicle at all times.

• Avoid distractions by putting away electronic devices while driving.
