The 9th edition of the Librarian Week invites professionals, students, and researchers to engage in a critical reflection on the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the fields of Library Science and Information Science. With the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Information Competence: Challenges and Perspectives in Library Science," the gathering aims to discuss how emerging technologies are reshaping informational practices, the role of librarians, and the skills required to navigate this new landscape. Topics will include the ethical use of AI, combating misinformation, knowledge mediation, and the development of informational competencies in times of rapid technological change. The program will feature lectures, round tables, and workshops, fostering dialogue between theory and practice.
This year, inspired by national and international events, the IX LIBRARIAN WEEK 2025 introduces the presentation of works by students and alumni (undergraduate, graduate, and extension) from the School of Information Science, librarians from UFMG, researchers, and other interested parties in collaborative discussions.
The gathering aims to explore new perspectives, share ideas, and build meaningful connections!
Participation certificates will be issued for all activities!
Location: School of Information Science/UFMG, Adriana Bogliolo Auditorium (room 1000).
