The Science of Learning: What Does It Really Tell Us About Teaching?

Info

The Science of Learning: An Insight into Teaching Methodologies

This lecture explores the interplay between the science of learning and its implications for teaching practices. It addresses the question of whether traditional teaching methods are truly the most effective and examines the validity of newer approaches like inquiry- or problem-based learning.

Attendees will engage with critical inquiries, such as whether there is a single authoritative science of learning or multiple perspectives. It also considers if the current findings in learning science are up-to-date and highlights potential neglected outcomes of a strictly didactic teaching style.

This presentation will provide clarity on how scientific insights about learning coalesce with everyday classroom environments.
