The Diaspora Uganda Nurses Midwives Society (DUNMS) is excited to announce the Nurses Exhibition aimed at fostering a vibrant future and showcasing the nursing profession as a compelling career choice for the youth.
In celebration of International Nurses and Midwives week, the exhibition will feature a distinguished guest speaker, Professor Laura Serrant CBE PhD, who is dedicated to mentorship and supporting the next generation.
Professor Serrant is a renowned expert in leadership development and inclusive practices, as well as a registered nurse and accomplished speaker. She operates her own Leadership Development and Executive Coaching firm and serves as the Chair of The Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Notably, she has created a research framework known as ‘The Silences Framework’ that addresses often overlooked human experiences, forming the foundation of her business model, #TheSilenceSpeaks.
With extensive experience working alongside government bodies and think tanks in the UK and internationally, Laura focuses on promoting health equity and ensuring marginalized voices are represented in healthcare policy and practice. Her recent contributions include involvement in a review of leadership within the NHS.
