The National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners (NAATSIHWP) is hosting a one-day professional development and networking workshop in 2025. This initiative aims to address key issues that will enhance the participants' growth in their careers while providing updates on national matters relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners.
The workshop will include various forums, offering insights into NAATSIHWP's current projects and progress on supporting these health professionals. Participants will engage in a workshop focusing on Scope of Practice, aimed at optimizing resources in their workplaces.
Attendees will learn how to navigate the Members Portal, a useful tool for tracking personal training and accessing numerous resources. The discussions will also highlight cultural safety in workplaces, helping to identify unsafe environments and explore possible solutions. Additionally, the workshop will cover the importance of self-care, addressing the well-being of those in the health profession who often prioritize others’ needs over their own.
The event will be fully catered and is free to attend, with special guests from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority and Monash University facilitating a Wound Care workshop.
All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Health Practitioners are encouraged to consider joining NAATSIHWP, along with invitations extended to professional bodies and non-Indigenous friends to support the association as Corporate Friends or Friends of NAATSIHWP.
