Benjamín Furman Quartet presents a concert titled "From Chile to Mexico. Latin American Jazz." The artist, originally from Chile and currently residing in New York, showcases a performance that blends original music with a tribute to Mexican folk and popular music, particularly highlighting the son jarocho tradition from Veracruz.
Furman's work merges Latin American and Mexican folklore, Latin songs, flamenco, and jazz, as reflected in his latest album, Zalmo (2024).
According to Furman:
The connection between past and present that forms the essence of Zalmo resonates with Mexico, a unique territory where the past and present coexist. Mexico serves as a vital bridge between diverse cultures, honoring musical traditions from South America and North America, as well as connections to Europe, all of which are acknowledged directly or indirectly in this work.
With experience performing at renowned venues across the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and the Middle East, Furman takes the stage at Fundación Casa de México in Spain in a quartet format, joined by distinguished international musicians.
