About AAVS
A glitch, commonly seen as an error or disruption, presents unexpected opportunities for insight and growth. Supported by Alserkal Arts Foundation, the AA Visiting School program in Dubai delves into undefined spaces through situated spatial sonic practices such as listening, translation, and transcription.
Under the Climate Cartographies program, the School’s initiatives in Dubai explore the relationship between climate change and heritage, while seeking innovative methods to express these concepts through sound.
With a group of 20 architects, designers, cultural practitioners, and artists, participants will collaboratively engage with data, research, artistic practices, and the region’s intricate history to create projects that arise from an awareness of both sound and land.
