Pathfinder - The Poetry Of Eavan Boland

Info

Pathfinder - The Poetry Of Eavan Boland is scheduled for Thursday, April 24th at 7pm in the Edmund Burke Theatre, located within the Arts Building of Trinity College Dublin.

This occasion, hosted by Trinity College Dublin and Poetry Ireland, will commemorate the naming of the Eavan Boland Library. It features a unique reading of selected poems by the acclaimed poet and novelist Colm Tóibín, who serves as the Laureate for Irish Fiction from 2022 to 2024. The reading holds particular significance as it marks the anniversary of Eavan Boland's passing in April 2020.

Opening remarks will be presented on behalf of Poetry Ireland by Catriona Crowe.

Moderation will be led by Professor Eve Patten, who is the Director of the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts and Humanities Research Institute at Trinity College Dublin.

Featured readers will include Boland's daughters, Eavan and Sarah Casey, alongside poets such as Mary O'Malley, Nidhi Zak, Aria Eipe, esteemed novelist Sebastian Barry, and broadcaster Doireann Ní Bhriain.

Attendance is free, although prior booking is necessary.

This collaboration between Poetry Ireland and the Trinity College Dublin Library showcases the enduring legacy of Eavan Boland. Photographic contributions of Boland by Joe St. Leger are also part of the celebration.
