Creating Safe and Supportive Workplaces for Everyone

Organizations can improve workplace wellbeing by adopting trauma-informed approaches rooted in empathy, understanding, and kindness.

This complimentary gathering focuses on empowering local businesses and is presented by Leeds Mindful Employer Network.

Participants from various sectors, particularly senior leaders, HR professionals, and wellbeing advocates from Leeds and West Yorkshire, are encouraged to attend.

Date: Wednesday 23rd April

Time: 12.30-4pm (Refreshments will be available during the afternoon break. Lunch will not be provided at this gathering)

Location: Leeds Civic Hall Banqueting Suite, Calverley Street, Leeds LS1 1UR

The past few years have highlighted the importance of trauma awareness, as challenges from the pandemic and ongoing economic stress have reshaped employee expectations. Companies must offer more adaptable and nurturing environments to thrive.

By integrating trauma-informed methods into workplace practices, organizations can foster supportive atmospheres that enhance mental health, resilience, and psychological safety for all.

Understanding Trauma-Informed Practices

This approach requires a shift in mindset, focusing on employees' experiences by asking "What has happened to you?" rather than "What is wrong with you?" when addressing challenges in the workplace.

Transitioning to a trauma-informed environment acknowledges that many workers bring the influences of past difficulties into their jobs, emphasizing the creation of spaces where all can flourish.

Attendees can expect to hear from expert speakers on topics like mental health, trauma-informed methods, and inclusivity (refer to the speaker list below).

Participants will learn about real-world applications, receive insights from lived experiences of trauma-informed workplaces, and network with other regional employers.
