Christos Papamarkides | Partner | Tax & Legal
Christos began his career in 1993 in Cyprus, earning the title of Chartered Certified Accountant. He joined the tax department of Chrysanthou & Christoforou (a predecessor of Deloitte) in 1998, having five years of professional experience with other firms. He studied in the United Kingdom and is a Partner Chartered Certified Accountant and an active member of the Association of Certified Accountants in Cyprus. He has served as chairman and is currently a member and secretary of the VAT Committee of the Association.
Christos leads Deloitte's indirect tax department. He possesses extensive experience in both Cypriot and international taxation, specializing in indirect taxes. His expertise includes designing, consulting, and providing guidance on indirect tax issues as well as liaising with the relevant authorities. He is the primary negotiator for resolving clients' indirect tax matters with the VAT authorities in Cyprus.
Christakis Oikonomou | Director | Tax & Legal
Christakis is a Director in the Tax Services of Deloitte Cyprus, specializing in VAT. He joined Deloitte in 2003 and is responsible for the Indirect Tax department in Limassol. He provides compliance and VAT advisory services to a large number of international and local clients across various sectors, including oil and gas, shipping, financial services, real estate, trade, and more.
Christakis also conducts VAT seminars for both clients and Deloitte staff members.
