The 5th International Symposium on Monolingual and Bilingual Speech (ISMBS 2025) is designed to showcase innovative research focused on language acquisition and usage across various linguistic contexts. This encompasses first languages, second languages, bilingualism, multilingualism, and dialectal variations, addressing both children and adults, as well as typical and atypical language development.
Participants are encouraged to engage in cross-disciplinary discussions that span applied linguistics fields such as phonology, phonetics, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sign language, psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics, neurolinguistics, educational linguistics, sociolinguistics, and speech pathology. Contributions can include theoretical, experimental, qualitative, observational, computational, and clinical research.
The symposium will take place at UL Lafayette.
