Overview

The International Climate Camp offers a 5-day interactive experience that emphasizes environmental awareness and proactive climate initiatives. Individuals from various nations will gather in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal, to engage in educational activities, hands-on projects, and cultural exchanges, all while advocating for sustainability and ecological protection.


  • Objectives:
    1. Enhance understanding of climate change and eco-friendly practices.
    2. Involve participants in tree planting and sustainable agricultural methods.
    3. Promote teamwork among global youth and environmental advocates.
    4. Showcase Nepal’s natural landscape and cultural richness.
    5. Motivate participants to take on roles as environmental advocates in their homelands.

Itinerary Highlights
Day 1: Arrival & Launch in Kathmandu


  • Morning:
    Arrival: Participants will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, where they will be received by the camp team. Transportation will be arranged to the venue for the official camp launch.

  • Afternoon:
    Launch Ceremony: This portion will introduce attendees to the camp’s mission and agenda, along with critical safety and logistical information. Influential keynote speakers will provide valuable insights on climate action.

  • Evening:
    Travel to Sindhupalchowk: After the launch, participants will take a scenic journey to Sindhupalchowk, transitioning from the bustle of Kathmandu to the peaceful rural environment.

  • Day 2: Community Engagement in Sindhupalchowk

  • Morning:
    Village Arrival: Participants will split into groups for accommodation—one in homestays for cultural immersion, while the other will camp for a unique experience. A local orientation will begin the day.

  • Afternoon:
    Community Interactions: Participants will start to engage with the local lifestyle through various interactions.

  • Evening:
    Welcome Dinner & Cultural Performance: A meal prepared by local families will introduce participants to the authentic flavors of Nepal, complemented by traditional performances that showcase local culture.

Day 3: Climate Action Initiatives
Morning:
Tree Planting: Participants will actively participate in a tree-planting initiative, learning how to care for trees and understanding their importance in climate mitigation.
Climate Workshops: Experts will offer workshops addressing local and global climate challenges.


  • Afternoon:
    Sustainable Agriculture Techniques: Participants will collaborate with local farmers to experience and learn sustainable farming practices.

  • Evening:
    Dinner & Reflections: Following activities, participants will share meals and experiences with their hosts and fellow attendees.
  • Day 4: Outdoor Experiences
    Morning:
    Trekking Excursion: Participants will enjoy a guided trek, exploring the area's stunning landscapes and biodiversity.


  • Afternoon:
    Culinary Workshop: Participants will learn to cook traditional dishes with local families and share a meal together.

  • Community Projects: Participants will assist with various community development initiatives.

  • Evening:
    Cultural Exchange: A campfire gathering will foster a cultural exchange with stories, music, and performance.
  • Day 5: Exploration and Departure
    Morning:
    Return to Kathmandu: Participants will travel back to Kathmandu.


  • Afternoon:
    Kathmandu Exploration: The group will partake in a guided tour, discovering significant heritage sites and urban climate initiatives.

    Early Registration (Before 15th May 2025):
    International Participants: 200 USD (includes all transport and meals)
    Local Participants (Nepal): 150 USD (includes all transport and meals)

    Regular Registration (After 15th May 2025):
    International Participants: 250 USD
    Local Participants (Nepal): 200 USD
    Scholarships Available:
    Full Scholarships: Covering all expenses
    Partial Scholarships: Covering 50% of the fee.
