Free Community Concerts at Dominion-Chalmers - CELTIC HARMONIES

Info

Experience an enchanting journey with Celtic Harmonies, a concert that beautifully blends the rich folk traditions from Ireland, Scotland, and the Celtic communities in North America. This event features a selection of cherished ballads, poignant laments, and timeless melodies that convey the universal narratives connecting far-off lands.

On a monthly basis, Dominion Chalmers United Church hosts a series of complimentary community concerts, guided by Music Director Nick Veltmeyer and Artist-in-Residence Emmanuel Solomon. Each concert showcases talented musicians, local special guests, and visiting artists. Everyone is invited to partake in the uplifting and inspiring atmosphere of these performances.

The Oak and Holly Quartet will make their debut at Dominion Chalmers on Sunday, January 19th!

Established by composer and conductor Nick Veltmeyer, the Oak and Holly Quartet consists of distinguished professional singers adept in folk and early music. Their profound enthusiasm for merging tradition with innovation is evident in their repertoire, which ranges from the intricate harmonies of early music to the visceral storytelling found in folk traditions. Nick Veltmeyer's notable contributions include works like Jimmy and Rosalia: A Settler Folk Opera and Aureas Voces: GATHERING.
