Welcome to an afternoon dedicated to knowledge sharing and networking at the Norwegian Film Institute. The outgoing and incoming documentary consultants will share insights about the achievements of Norwegian documentaries and their future prospects. The team behind Ibelin will discuss their journey toward the Oscars.
The Norwegian Film Institute welcomes its new documentary consultant, Charlotte Røhder Tvedt, and thanks Klara Nilsson Grunning for completing her term as documentary film consultant.
Director Benjamin Ree and producer Ingvil Giske will join the discussion directly from their Oscar campaign in the USA, offering insights into what is necessary for Norwegian documentaries to succeed internationally.

Ibelin's First Year
Director Benjamin Ree and producer Ingvil Giske will share their experiences, discoveries, and challenges from the world premiere at Sundance to the final stretch of the Oscar race.
They will explore the balance between strategy and luck, the role of the audience, timing, and contacts in the process. They will also discuss what they have learned about the film's target audience and expectations when aiming for prestigious awards.

Panel Discussion with Documentary Consultants
Outgoing documentary consultant Klara Nilsson Grunning will reflect on her time at the Norwegian Film Institute. Four years ago, she predicted that the momentum of both the art of filmmaking and the industry would propel Norwegian film internationally. She will evaluate whether that expectation has been met and what developments are currently seen in the Norwegian documentary sector.
New consultant Charlotte Røhder Tvedt will share her thoughts and visions for the future, along with her perspectives on the artistic film landscape and future viewing platforms.

Networking
After the program, there will be networking at Lemongrass, located on the ground floor of Cinemateket, where refreshments will be available. Documentary consultants Charlotte Røhder Tvedt, Anna J. Ljungmark, and Klara Nilsson Grunning will be present, along with several colleagues from the NFI.
