This year's Charité Update focuses on the etiology and treatment of Class III malocclusion. The discussion will begin with the etiology and prevention of Class III, followed by an exploration of orthopedic treatment options through maxillary protrusion. The current evidence regarding the significance of guided nasal expansion (GNE) and skeletal anchorage will also be examined, along with age-related restrictions on orthopedic therapy. The final segment will cover the possibilities for combined orthodontic and surgical treatment, addressing associated temporomandibular joint problems and therapy for concurrent obstructive sleep apnea.
