Taonga Tākaro: traditional Māori games Session 1

Info

Join the opportunity to learn traditional Māori games, exploring the connection to te taiao and the various layers of matauranga.

Kaiako (tutors) from Sport Auckland will provide instruction beneath the shaded canopy of the Native Arboretum.

This outdoor class requires appropriate clothing and footwear; participants should remember to bring sunscreen, a raincoat, and a water bottle.

Two one-hour sessions will take place, with both classes offering the same content, so registration is only necessary for one.

Registration is important as spots are limited, and any accessibility needs should be communicated in advance. A few walk-in spots will be available on the day.

Date: Saturday, January 18th

Class one: 10-11:30 am

Class two: 12:30-2 pm

Location: Native Arboretum below Huia Lodge Discovery Hub, with vehicle access from Green Lane West.

This is a free opportunity.
