The Calanques National Park, as part of its scientific missions, presents a citizen science program aimed at monitoring the population of the Eurasian Eagle-Owl (Bubo bubo), called "The Nights of the Eagle-Owl," running from December 9, 2024, to February 28, 2025 (4th edition), in collaboration with various associations and specialized institutions.

📍 🕛Location and Meeting Point: Luminy - Marseille
The total participation duration is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours (briefing, access, listening, debriefing). The exact meeting time will be confirmed closer to the date (around 4 PM or 5 PM, depending on the equinox).
The precise location and time for the meeting will be communicated by the site referent 48 hours or the day before the listening session, along with the weather update.

What to Expect During this Monitoring Program?
During one hour at dusk, participants will listen for the characteristic call of the Eurasian Eagle-Owl. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary, as guidance will be provided throughout the program.

Anyone aged 12 and above with the ability to walk in natural spaces can join. Registration is individual, and it is not possible to attend with someone else.

It is recommended to wear warm clothing, have a headlamp, bring a thermos of hot drink, and carry a pen.
