At the Design Museum Brussels, a panel discussion will take place focused on how women can create social impact through innovative design practices that merge art, craft, and technology. This discussion will gather curators, educators, and historians to delve into the potential of women-led design in engaging and transforming communities.
The Design Stories initiative is part of a broader research project entitled Looking Through Objects: Women in Contemporary Polish Design, which investigates the role of women in driving change via design and creative endeavors. The project includes a traveling exhibition, as well as a series of lectures, talks, and interviews scheduled across various locations in Poland, the UK, Belgium, and the Baltic states.
The Design Stories / Brussels discussion serves as a precursor to the exhibition Looking Through Objects, set to be displayed at the Design Museum Brussels from May 9 to September 28, 2025.
This initiative is a collaboration involving the Design Museum Brussels, the Polish Institute Brussels, SWPS University, and the Royal College of Art, and is partnered with Disegno Journal.
This project is aligned with the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025.
Featured speakers include Gian Luca Amadei, Arnaud Bozzini, Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka, Katarina Serulus, and Marjan Sterckx.
Oli Stratford from Disegno Journal will moderate the discussion.
The project curators are Gian Luca Amadei and Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka.
