Presentation of No Man’s Land by David Nash
No Man’s Land marks the debut poetry collection by Cork poet David Nash, who currently resides in Chile. This collection has earned the Seamus Heaney Prize for Best First Collection and has been recognized with nominations for various prestigious literary awards.
During the presentation, Nash will perform select readings from this volume, share translations, and lead a discussion exploring the themes, influences, and inspirations behind his work.
His poetry offers a poignant reflection on the alarming decline of language, knowledge, and natural habitats, while simultaneously celebrating the wonder encapsulated in every seed and the risks inherent in chance.
- The Irish Times
The collection serves as a lyrical meditation on the rural Irish landscape, expressed by a queer poet who returns to County Cork with a sense of loss, employing inventive forms to evoke memories of familiarity.

Originally from County Cork, David Nash divides his time between Ireland and Chile. His 2022 pamphlet, The Islands of Chile, preceded the release of No Man’s Land in 2023. He also authored a children's book titled Bajo Mis Pies in Spanish, published in 2020, with another one set to launch in 2025. In addition, he contributes articles to various publications and works as a translator into English.
A book featuring translations of Mapuche poetry is expected to be released in 2025.
