In 2024, The Priests will mark their remarkable 50-year journey in music with a series of farewell concerts. The trio, comprised of Frs. Eugene, Martin, and David, will take the stage for the final time as a group, performing beloved classics such as "Ave Maria," "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," and "You Raise Me Up." Their illustrious career includes millions of album sales and numerous accolades, showcasing their extraordinary talent across the globe.
Fr. Eugene reflects on their decision: “When we started our music career, we made a commitment to keep our priestly duties separate. As time goes on, balancing both has become increasingly challenging. Therefore, our 50th anniversary feels like the perfect moment to conclude our performances as a group. This journey has been filled with unforgettable experiences, and while we will continue to cherish our friendship and love for music, The Priests will end their collective performances here. These concerts will be a moment of gratitude to all who have supported us along the way.”
Since signing their record deal in April 2008, The Priests have gained international acclaim, including a debut album partially recorded in Rome's St. Peter’s Basilica that achieved remarkable success in over 40 countries, earning them multiple gold and platinum certifications.
Throughout their journey, The Priests have maintained their roles as full-time priests, performing for various dignitaries including the late Queen, three Popes, and Prince Charles along with the Duchess of Cornwall, now King and Queen Consort.
In recognition of their contributions to music and charity in Northern Ireland, they were honored with MBEs in 2020. This concert series promises to be a significant celebration of their extraordinary legacy.
