The Centre for Music Education and Social Justice at Southampton is thrilled to launch a new initiative under the AHRC Hub for Public Engagement with Music Research. This program focuses on training and mentorship while funding four collaborative projects aimed at connecting researchers with music organizations to create meaningful public engagement initiatives centered around social change.
In an effort to broaden its reach, the hub will embark on a mini tour across Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland in November and December, to discuss its funding opportunities and facilitate connections among potential partners.
At the Scottish Music Centre, the gathering will feature a variety of engaging activities aimed at fostering dialogue between academics, music organizations, charities, and freelancers interested in securing funding for projects ranging from £75k to £100k.
Facilitated by project leader Erin Johnson-Williams and co-lead Ben Oliver, the session promises to offer refreshments, including a tasty vegetarian lunch.
The hub emphasizes accessibility and inclusivity; hence, babies are welcome. Those who need special arrangements, such as a ticket for an assistant or support with travel and communication needs, are encouraged to reach out.
Additionally, individuals from small organizations or freelancers who may require a stipend to participate can express their needs as well.
