The Santa dash returns and promises to be more exciting than ever, taking place in Uppermill on the first Saturday of December (7th December).
This year's festivities will occur at King George V park and its car park in central Uppermill. The gathering will commence at midday with various market stalls and refreshments available, setting a cheerful atmosphere before the start of the dash, which will be expertly coordinated by Elliot Eastwick featuring a full lineup on stage.
This popular annual event anticipates a full capacity of 2,200 participants who will dash through a lively Uppermill village, continuing along the bridal path to Greenfield and then returning to enjoy post-dash celebrations.
Local hero Kevin Sinfield will take part in this year's Santa dash as he completes his final challenge, with a portion of each ticket sale supporting the charity MND.
Participants can choose between two routes: a challenging 5km option or a more accessible 2km route suitable for prams and wheelchairs, allowing for flexibility in the choice on the day.
The fun will carry on into the evening, featuring a special appearance from the real Santa, who will be escorted down the high street on a rush cart, with more details to be revealed soon.
