Awakening Yoga Class

Revitalize the mind and body through the art of meditative movement.

Class Schedule

Every Wednesday and Saturday for 90 minutes.

Session Outline

  • Introduction and teachings (10-15 min)
  • Breathing exercise (5 min)
  • Mudras, energy alignment, and prayers (5 min)
  • Asanas - the practice of meditation in motion (50 min)
  • Relaxation phase (10 min)
  • Closing prayers

Yoga Styles

This class incorporates teachings from Amrit, Kripalu, and Ashtanga Yoga, aiming to foster a conscious connection among the body, mind, heart, and spirit.

Participants will delve into Patanjali's 8 limbs of yoga, including:

  • Yama: universal ethics
  • Niyama: individual observances
  • Asana: physical postures
  • Pranayama: breath control
  • Pratyahara: senses withdrawal
  • Dharana: concentration
  • Dhyana: meditation
  • Samadhi: spiritual unity and enlightenment

Class Experience

Participants will practice gentle vinyasa flows and the Amrit posture sequence, aiming to explore the profound connections between body, mind, and spirit.

The class emphasizes balancing the nervous system as practitioners learn to transition from an active posture state to deep relaxation.

Attendees will encounter their physical and mental edges, helping to release tensions and restore the natural flow of prana.

Level of Participation

This class is suitable for all experience levels, though some familiarity with yoga and postures is recommended.

Joining the Class

  • Log in to Zoom 10 minutes before class starts and silence devices
  • Wear comfortable clothing, barefoot is ideal
  • Avoid eating 1.5 to 2 hours prior to class
  • Yoga mats and props like blocks, blankets, and straps are encouraged
