Facilitated by Mary Lou O’Kennedy, the founding director of OAK Conflict Dynamics
Resolving Conflicts in the Workplace. Managers often spend a significant portion of their time dealing with conflicts, yet many do not feel adequately prepared to handle these situations effectively.
Ineffective conflict management can lead to decreased morale and productivity, as well as poor decision-making. This not only creates a stressful work environment but can also contribute to absenteeism, presenteeism, high staff turnover, and the loss of valued employees.
The Third Party Resolution (TPR) method serves as an invaluable communication resource for leaders aiming to mitigate workplace conflicts. The essence of managing disputes is to address them proactively, ideally before they escalate.
This workshop offers participants the skills necessary to manage conflicts effectively. Through interactive discussions and practical training, attendees will master a distinctive communication technique applicable in any professional setting to reduce the intensity of conflicts.
TPR stands out because it fosters improved decision-making and cooperation rather than mere compliance. Once participants understand the methodology, they can seamlessly integrate it with their existing capabilities. The course spans a single day and is applicable across various work environments. Research indicates that up to 90% of interpersonal conflicts can be resolved using this approach.
While TPR serves as an independent workshop, it complements the knowledge gained from the OAK Effective Conflict Management course, which is a part of the Safe to Create training initiative.
TPR is associated with the Mediation Training Institute (MTI) at Eckerd College, Florida. Participants will receive an MTI workbook and a certificate upon completion of the course.
Only 15 spots are available for this workshop, so interested individuals should apply promptly.
