Flampouritsa Gorge has always been a Christmas landmark for enthusiastic adventurers. Every year, in a breathtaking scenery that resembles a Christmas postcard, the beautiful trail featuring the adopted fir tree sets the stage for nature’s festive prelude!
In this stunning natural setting, the unique path presents a scene that captivates: a superb hiking trail fully enveloped by fir trees of all sizes, lies in the shadow of the towering Great Ziria on one side and Little Ziria on the other. Portions of the trail run parallel to and intersect the Sitha River that flows through Flampouritsa Gorge.
Against a fairytale-like backdrop of towering conifers, black pines, and Cephalonia firs, moss carpets and other low vegetation and mushrooms contribute to a Christmas mood, especially if snowflakes gentle the scenery—a unique spectacle that is endlessly delightful!
The enchanting, easy-going trail will leave an everlasting impression, as no photograph can capture such beauty!
During the hike, participants will decorate the adopted fir with ornaments made from natural/organic materials (fruits, vegetables, peels) which everyone is encouraged to bring along from home.
Later, the group will arrive at the enchanting Trikala Korinthias for a delightful surprise!
The hiking trail is suitable for individuals in good physical condition, provided they have at least the minimum required equipment. Mountain level = 4
