The EUROPE DIRECT Center Oradea, the Community Foundation Oradea, and the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Science, and Communication Sciences at the University of Oradea invite attendees to a simulation session of the decision-making process within the EU. The audience will have the opportunity to witness a simulated European summit conducted by students and faculty from the University of Oradea.
The simulation titled “The Decision-Making Process in the European Parliament: United Europe, Quo Vadis?” will allow participants to observe the decision-making processes within EU institutions, particularly the European Parliament, firsthand.
During the simulation, students will assume the roles of representatives from European institutions and officials directly involved in making some of the most important decisions at the European level. Key topics on the agenda will include the hearings of designated commissioners, Romania and Bulgaria's accession to Schengen, combating disinformation, solidarity with Ukraine, rising energy prices, and addressing energy poverty in the context of the war in Ukraine.
These simulations aim to highlight current topics on the agenda of the European Union for the local community. The organizers intend to foster local dialogue regarding issues discussed at the European level.
The event is scheduled for December 11, starting at 12:00 PM, in the conference hall of the University of Oradea Library.
