Ruakaka Kayak & Snorkel Day

Info

Experience a delightful day at Ruakaka Estuary with Experiencing Marine Reserves and Pacific Coast Kayaks, featuring a wonderful Kayak and Snorkel Day. Participants can enjoy guided kayak sessions and snorkeling experiences led by expert volunteer guides. This event promises a fun-filled day for families to learn about the estuary and its vibrant marine life. Donations are appreciated.

Supported by the Wai Connection Program and funded by the Ministry for the Environment, the day includes essential pre-registrations for both activities. The minimum age requirement for kayaking is 7, while snorkelling is for those aged 5 and above. Please note that kayaking and snorkelling sessions are separate and do not depart together.

Kayaking Time Slots (pre-registration required):

There are 16 hire spots available for each time slot. Attendees should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start time.

Slot 1: 10.00am

Slot 2: 11.30am

Slot 3: 1.30pm

Snorkelling Time Slots (pre-registration required):

Slot 1: 10.00am

Slot 3: 1.30pm

All necessary snorkeling gear, including wetsuits, masks, snorkels, and fins, will be provided at no cost. Participants are advised to arrive 15 minutes early.

It is essential to reserve a spot for each individual attending. If someone is unable to attend after booking, they should cancel their reservation to allow others to participate.

Participants are encouraged to arrive on time, as groups may leave without latecomers. Due to safety precautions and limited group sizes, joining a later group may not be possible if it is fully booked.

Concurrently registering for both kayaking and snorkeling is permitted, provided different time slots are chosen for each.
