The main objective of this discussion is to determine which skills and competencies are most challenging to find in the local area, and how businesses in Malmö can encourage talented individuals from around the globe to relocate to the city.
This gathering is aimed at local HR professionals, talent recruiters, and representatives from People & Culture teams involved in recruiting from a diverse global talent pool, encompassing regions from Europe to Asia and beyond. Their insights will help shape a residency initiative meant to address Malmö’s skill shortages.
The outcomes from this workshop will influence the competency criteria outlined in an open call for a new residency program, which aims to select seven skilled individuals from various countries to spend a month in Malmö, facilitating their integration within the local business landscape.
Key questions include: How can local opportunities be effectively connected with global talent based on competency? What specific skills should be highlighted in this open call? What current and future competencies are essential for the incoming residents? What aspects of Malmö make it an attractive destination for work and living? What skills will local businesses require over the next five years?
The session will be guided by Pernilla Lavesson and Martin Thörnkvist from Media Evolution, who are at the forefront of the Onboarding Malmö and residency efforts in collaboration with the City of Malmö.
