Each year, thousands of Victorians experience cardiac arrest outside of hospitals. This sudden event necessitates immediate intervention to enhance survival chances, as each minute without assistance significantly diminishes the likelihood of recovery. Unfortunately, only about 10% of individuals survive such incidents.
The importance of rapid bystander response in these critical moments cannot be overstated. Bystanders performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can double a victim's chance of survival. Furthermore, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) increases the survival rate from 10% to over 70%.
For those interested in acquiring life-saving skills and knowledge about AED usage, there is an interactive session available called Call Push Shock. This session equips participants with the necessary training to respond effectively in life-threatening situations.
The session is free to attend, but it is essential to secure a spot in advance.
Important Note - Attendance requires a reservation for every participant.
