The UC Welcome Day serves as an introduction for new students at the University of Canberra, allowing them to explore the campus and community.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with UC through a mini outdoor market featuring stalls from various student clubs, societies, and support services, as well as UniLodge accommodation. Campus tours led by current students will help newcomers become more familiar with their surroundings.
For those who have accepted their offers to study at UC, this day is an excellent opportunity to begin their journey. Attendees can receive guidance on enrolment and timetabling from the welcoming staff, ensuring they are prepared for the upcoming semester.
As an incentive, new students enrolling in their first semester will have the chance to receive a complimentary UC hoodie during the day.
Who should attend? This day is designed for anyone holding an offer to study at the University of Canberra (Bruce Campus only) starting Semester 1, 2025.
To accept an offer, individuals should refer to the official offer letter from the university and reach out to study@canberra.edu.au for assistance if needed.
Is registration required? Pre-registering for the welcome day is encouraged to facilitate planning and optimize the visit experience. This also allows ongoing communication leading up to the event.
What preparations are needed? Participants must accept their offers beforehand, allowing time to access enrolment details for Semester 1, 2025. If enrolling in a Commonwealth Supported Course, a Unique Student Identifier (USI) is necessary.
For those planning to drive, suggested routes can be found on the university's website, and public transport options are available through the local transport authority.
The free hoodie will only be available on this specific occasion for new 2025 students. After the day, UC hoodies and merchandise can be purchased at the UCX Shop.
For individuals unable to attend, the campus is open throughout the year for personal tours, and virtual tours are also available to explore UC from home. Additional information regarding O-Week will be shared in early 2025 to assist with preparations for the start of university.
For those with accessibility needs, UC provides services to support all students. More details can be found by visiting the campus and meeting the Inclusion Team on Welcome Day.
