The rise of private mobile networks has become notable, providing customized wireless solutions that meet enterprise automation and IoT requirements. These networks benefit from advancements in global 4G and 5G technologies.
Mainports, including sea ports and airports, are at the forefront of implementing these networks. Numerous systems have been established to enhance mobile connectivity, supporting operations such as crane control, video transmission, IoT functions, environmental monitoring, and various process optimizations.
A special program is underway to promote these solutions within Mainports. It comprises elements like role models for port authorities, ecosystem assessments, supply chain analysis, deployment best practices, and awareness initiatives to foster market growth and solution maturity.
The inaugural workshop on December 10th will feature key collaborators like Port of Rotterdam, Amsterdam Airport, NTT Data, and Druid software, setting the stage for future strategic outcomes.
The proposed agenda includes:
1. Opening Remarks and Program Overview
Introduction of ecosystem participants
Presentation of the vertical and the program's current vision
Discussion around round tables and the user journey within ecosystems
Market feedback from recent conferences: SDP, 5GACIA, and PortComms
2. Insights from Participants
Sharing vision and experiences regarding private networks from Port of Rotterdam, Schiphol, NTT Data, and Druid.
3. Perspectives from Third Parties
Contributions from Hutchinson, IPCSA, an MNO, a supplier of airport logistics hardware, and an ERP software provider.
4. Enhancing the Ecosystem Process and Deliverables
Developing role models for port authorities, exploring spectrum options, supply chain composition, and strategies for market acceleration; creating visibility and PR opportunities.
5. Conclusion and Future Planning
Identifying issues for discussion and potential research topics
Assessing the ecosystem's completeness and additional stakeholders needed
Planning for the next session and future engagements
Setting the agenda and timeline for a follow-up round table in Q1 2025
The program is subject to modifications!
Selected participants are considered vital to the value chain, and they are encouraged to join the workshop. Updates will be communicated further.
