As part of its 2024-2025 cycle, the Luxembourg Private Law Think Tank (GRDPL) warmly invites attendees to its conference on December 10, 2024:
Presented by Hannes Westendorf, Magistrate and lecturer at the University of Luxembourg.
Summary
The dimensions of real property pertain to the concept of property rights, which are inherently three-dimensional. However, this perspective may be overly simplistic from a legal analysis viewpoint. While there are indeed three dimensions of real property, it is crucial to focus on the property right itself, its definition, and its evolution regarding the rights of property owners. This involves determining the legal extent of property rights and identifying their limitations. Once these rights are established, attention shifts to the physical aspects of property, including its spatial boundaries, potential conflicts between owners, and the legal solutions available to resolve such disputes. Additionally, the historical evolution of property rights should not be overlooked. The holder of property rights may change, and the discussion will cover various methods of acquisition and transfer of property, as well as practical difficulties encountered in case law.
This presentation will be followed by a discussion with the audience, initiated by Dr. Mathilde CALCIO-GAUDINO, Research scientist.
The GRDPL conference will take place in person.
