NEW! Participation in the Portfolio Review allows attendees to apply for the Bologna Portfolio Award, a new opportunity for illustrators.
The award grants the winner a round-trip travel to the following Bologna Children's Book Fair scheduled for March 31 - April 3, 2025. It aims to recognize the essential role of an illustrator’s portfolio in opening up new job prospects and serving as a primary communication tool between illustrators and their clients such as publishers, art directors, and agents.

The Bologna Portfolio Award is available to all illustrators who take part in the Portfolio Review at the 2024 FIL Guadalajara edition (scheduled from November 30 to December 4, 2024, at the BCBF stand in the International Area HH7). All participants will also receive a complimentary code to access the 2025 Illustrators Wall, a digital platform on the BCBF website where illustrators can showcase their illustrated stories alongside a brief profile that includes their email, website, and social media contacts.
