Womb Craft: An Introduction to Healing Birth Scars

Essential skills for effective healing of post-birth scars.

This workshop is designed for women, midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, body workers, and physiotherapists.

Attendees will gain comprehensive insights into pelvic anatomy and the impact of post-birth scar tissue, along with practical strategies for healing applicable to both individuals and practitioners.

Participants will take away valuable hands-on techniques and knowledge to address post-birth scars.

The curriculum includes understanding scar tissue anatomy and its potential implications for pelvic health, as well as conditions like prolapse and incontinence.

The workshop will cover comprehensive support and healing strategies for:

  • C-sections
  • Episiotomies
  • Vaginal scars
  • Prolapse, incontinence, and painful intercourse

Moreover, it will provide tools for addressing hidden birth scars and practical self-care suggestions.

Participants will also learn about the use of castor oil for scar healing.

This training offers a thorough approach to scar tissue remediation, making it suitable for all women and their caregivers.

Note: This is an introductory workshop based on STREAM scar tissue remediation and draws from the work of Ellen Heed, rooted in the Wheel of Consent developed by Dr. Betty Martin.

There will be a practical segment in the workshop, allowing participants to engage at their own comfort levels. No genital contact will take place during this session.
