Exhibition in memory of M. Alperin: "Tbilisi as the Universe by D. Zverev"

Info

Photo exhibition "Tbilisi as the Universe by Dmitry Zverev"

Mikhail (Misha) Alperin, 2017

A captivating story lies behind this exhibition:

In the autumn of 2017, renowned Norwegian pianist and composer Misha Alperin shared a recording of his latest piano piece, "Tiflis", with friends. One of those friends was Giorgi Davitashvili, the festival director at Noumen ART.

Upon hearing the piece, Giorgi recognized its beauty and expressed his intention to create a film about Tbilisi, using "Tiflis" as its musical backdrop. This sparked the idea to organize a tribute evening for Misha Alperin, where the music would blend with Dmitry Zverev's visual representation of Tbilisi.

Recently, Giorgi was inspired by Dmitry Zverev's impressive photographic work, which chronicles modern Tbilisi over two years, totaling more than 1,500 photos. Consequently, the concept for the tribute evening evolved, pairing Alperin's composition with Zverev's pictorial narrative of the city.

The combination of music and photography will unfold at the esteemed IArt Gallery in Tbilisi. The program will showcase a live acoustic performance by contemporary pianist and composer Ksenia Marokkanskaya alongside Rezo Kiknadze, a professor at the Tbilisi State Conservatory and a longtime acquaintance of Misha Alperin.

Guests at the IArt Gallery can look forward to a warm reception, where owners of Dmitry Zverev's photographic prints will have the chance to receive autographs.

This gathering provides a unique occasion to witness the fusion of art and music, fostering an inspiring and loving atmosphere.

Join in honoring the legacy of an extraordinary musician while enjoying remarkable photography!
