During the Romantic era, many works are characterized by a mood of melancholy. This event explores the intrinsic connection between art and melancholy through various pieces by Caspar David Friedrich and compositions by Franz Schubert. Attendees can experience this fascinating relationship as they view selected paintings by Friedrich while enjoying the performance of Schubert's pieces on flute and piano. From a psychological perspective, Eva-Lotta Brakemeier will shed light on the creative links between melancholy and artistic expression.
The evening features speakers Prof. Dr. Eva-Lotta Brakemeier and Raik Harder.
